About our facilities
The Centre has a large Main Hall (with stage). The hall is suitable for badminton, table tennis, large meetings, exhibitions, parties, etc. A smaller room known as ‘The Sarney Room’ is available for smaller meetings and is carpeted. There is a small kitchen, male & female toilets, disabled toilet with baby changing facilities and a small car park outside that is entered from The Common.
The Centre is normally available for hire from 09:00 to 23:00, 7 days a week (except Christmas Day). In exceptional circumstances other times may be booked, but an additional charge may be made as we may need to make special arrangements with our cleaning and security contractors.
Sarney Room
The size of the Sarney Room is 9m x 9m (30′ x 30′). It is carpeted. One wall is suitable for projecting images. The maximum capacity is 60 people standing, or 40 to 50 where seated. There are 50 green-cushioned, stackable chairs. (Other folding chairs are available from the Main Hall if required – these are on a trolley for easy moveability). There are 12 folding wheeled tables 1.2m x 0.60m (4′ x 2′).
Main Hall
The size of the hall is 17.5m x 9m (57′ x 30′). The maximum capacity is 150 people standing, or 100 where seated. The hall is suitable for badminton, table tennis, keep-fit, dance classes, amateur dramatics, large meetings, exhibitions, parties, etc. The hall is high enough at 7.6m (25′) to take a small bouncy castle if you wish to hire from an outside supplier. We do not allow ball games due to the hall having side lights. There is a serving hatch that leads to the kitchen.
There are 10 large folding tables 1.8m x 0.75m (6′ x 2′ 6″) and 1 smaller folding table 1.2m x 0.60m (4′ x 2′) and 150 red folding chairs.
Kitchen
The kitchen has a large single electric oven with 5 gas hobs. There are two electric kettles, 1 x electric urn (needs 20 mins to heat up), a small fridge and a microwave oven.
There is a selection of cups, saucers, mugs, teapots and trays. There is no cutlery. There are washing-up facilities (but no tea towels) as well as a hand-washing-only sink.
A broom, mop, dustpan & brush, carpet sweeper and vacuum cleaner are also available to use. Users should be aware from the Terms & Conditions that all rubbish must be taken away.
Please be aware that you may need to share the kitchen facilities with another group using a different part of the building.
